On December 19, 2017 at the Duplin Commons in Kenansville, North Carolina through a partnership with Salvation Army of Kinston, North Carolina host a Christmas giveway program for the residence of Duplin County.
The abundance of toys and food that was given away. Yes, each family was given a complete Christmas dinner uncooked. Ham, Chicken, cake, pie, rice, gravy, vegetables, the amount of food given was determined by the number of individuals in the family.
Volunteers from DCOM included Mrs. Wyche, Mrs. Gennell Page and the JROTC from Wallace Rose Hill High School, Brandon Merritt and Kaylan Redd.
Duplin Christian accepted 187 applications from individuals who stated that they were in crisis for various reasons and was seeking help from our agency. There were 369 children between the ages of 2-14, listed on the completed applications. To help with the process, Eastern Carolina Human Services, Wallace, NC also was accepting applications (on behalf of DCOM) so that the hours would be extended Monday through Friday beginning at 9 am until 5 pm to give all who was requesting help extended time. Duplin Christian Outreach Ministries thank the Eastern Carolina Human Services Human Services Agency, Inc. for their help. Without their help we would not have been able to reach the amount of individuals that were in crisis.
